Where we came from

Our History

Founded by a small group of dedicated hobbyists in Orange County, OCBA has grown into one of Central Florida's most active beekeeping associations.

Recently we have expanded our educational programming, established a mentorship network, and earned recognition as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization — reflecting our deep commitment to the community and the craft.

Today our members meet monthly at the Orange County Extension Education Center, sharing knowledge, swapping stories, and working together to ensure honey bees thrive in Central Florida for generations to come.
